One of Australia’s oldest and best-loved wine regions, the Barossa Valley is the spiritual home of Shiraz, that blockbuster red grape that sealed the fortunes of the Australian wine industry way back in the depths of time. It’s a short hop and skip from the ‘burbs of Adelaide to Barossa, which now produces over 20% off all Australian wine – and most importantly the premium stuff.
So that’s where we source ours from. Its big and burly (and very alcoholic – 14.5% if you’re asking), but also smooth and velvety, with a soft oaky spice and ripe plum and chocolatey flavours that’ll have you drooling for more. Just make sure you don’t drool in public.
Geek Fact: The Barossa Valley has some of the oldest vines to be found anywhere in the world – 150 years in case you’re wondering.
